Galiltec dates to the early 1980s, when some Israeli experts, pioneers in commercial tissue culture and intensive agricultural projects began working together on several new concepts in the Banana industry. These ventures included the commercialization of meristem plants and innovative planting concepts throughout the world.
Galiltec established in Honduras its operation and marketing center for Latin America and the Caribbean. In the 90s, Galiltec participated in projects regarding thousands of hectares in Central and South America.
Galiltec expanded with new crop lines due to global warming, started developing forest plants and energy crop plantations (Biomass) that have short cycle, low costs and high commercial value.
Today, Galiltec has a large capacity tissue culture laboratory, nurseries and greenhouses in many countries, including subsidiary companies in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Panama and the Dominican Republic. Our clients include multinational companies such as Chiquita, Del Monte, Dole, Fyffes, and other large and small producers worldwide.
